RW's Autumn 1 Class Work

We have been learning about patterns. We made different pattern by threading spools onto laces. We developed our fine motor skills.

Through sensory play, we have been learning to write our names.

We have been using our gross motor movements to learn how to ride bicycles and tricycles independently as well as how to climb the climbing frame safely and effectively. We can use our muscles to pull ourselves up on climbing equipment and steer our bikes around our track.

We learnt about healthy eating and tasted lots of different fruits and vegetable. We learnt how to use knives safely to chop and about the importance of hygiene when preparing food. We made fruit smoothies and vegetable soup.

We learnt all about autumn and the changes that we see around this time. Going on an autumn walk was so much fun and we talked about the noises that we hear when walking through the leaves on the ground. We know that we need to wear coats and wrap up warm as the weather gets cold.

We have begun to hold tools for writing effectively, using chalks to practice for holding a pencil. We drew pictures of ourselves after talking about what features we have. We talked about how we are all different and what makes us special. We also made collages of ourselves using scissors, glue and a variety of material.
